Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell (video game)
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell (2002) is a stealth action-adventure developed by Ubisoft Montreal, built from assets of the cancelled third-person shooter The Drift. It establishes light as a core gameplay stat via a persistent light meter, forces players into shadows, limits ammunition, and ties all vision modes—including night and thermal—to that same visibility logic. It was Ubisoft Montreal’s breakout title and a direct competitive response to Metal Gear Solid.
