Deus Ex (video game)
Deus Ex (2000) is an action role-playing game developed by Ion Storm and directed by Warren Spector. It combines first-person shooter, stealth, and RPG elements in a hub-based city structure. Players control JC Denton, a nanotech-augmented agent, and navigate environments using climbing, swimming, crouching, and object interaction. Missions are optional and objectives permit multiple solutions—stealth, hacking, or armed assault. Dialogue choices affect some events. Augmentations are permanent and energy-costed. Inventory space is limited. The game was built on the Unreal Engine, requiring added RPG systems. A post-release patch added deathmatch-style multiplayer.
